Dongshan Campus of Shanxi University covers an area of 1.500 mu, with a planned total construction area of 796,900 square meters. The first phase of construction is 439,600 square meters, and 13 single building and 6 ancillary buildings have been completed and passed the acceptance.

The Dadongguan Campus of Shanxi University, formerly known as Taiyuan Electric Power Institute, was founded in 1955. Under the Ministry of Electric Power Industry, it is one of the four electric power colleges under the Ministry of Electric Power. 1978 Recruiting junior college students through the college entrance examination. The building area is nearly 6,543,800 square meters. Most of the northern areas are traditional buildings, while the southern areas are mainly modern buildings.
