The curriculum and teaching theory of physics department of Beijing Normal University have great influence in China, and have made important contributions to the research direction of primary education and higher education. Mr. Yan, one of the founders of this major, has been engaged in physics teaching and scientific research of physics education for a long time, and is one of the founders of this subject in China. Professor Zhao Zheng, a doctoral supervisor, studied under the Nobel Prize winner Professor Puligaozin in his early years and obtained his doctorate from the Free University of Belgium. He was the chairman of the China Society of Gravitation and Relativity Astrophysics, and served as a doctoral supervisor of theoretical physics for a long time. He is currently the director of the Chinese Physical Society and the deputy editor-in-chief of College Physics. This major is the first batch of master's programs in China, and it is the earliest to recruit doctoral students in China. More than 100 university doctors, masters and visiting scholars have been trained all over the country, becoming the backbone of all units. He has undertaken many training projects for key physics teachers of the Ministry of Education, and hundreds of key teachers who have received training have become national academic leaders. This professional degree program draws on the profound heritage of a century-old prestigious school, inherits the professional heritage of decades of development, and undertakes the important task of guiding the research field of physical education in the country. In terms of personnel training, we pay attention to the awareness of excellent products, always adhere to the high standard of international vision, professional depth and comprehensive ability training, adhere to the principle that quality takes precedence over quantity, strive for perfection in scientific research and academic cooperation and exchange, and have achieved many fruitful results. A great deal of work done by this major in theory and practice has great significance and far-reaching influence on the development of higher education, teacher education and basic education.

In recent years, based on an international perspective, this major has done a lot of theoretical and practical research work around discipline construction and physical education research, serving the national curriculum reform of basic education and higher education. He presided over and participated in a number of educational research projects and online course construction projects, the formulation of national curriculum standards for the new round of curriculum reform, the compilation and evaluation of teaching materials, etc. A series of research achievements have been made in physics teaching reform, physics education research, teacher training and curriculum construction.

At present, the main research direction of this major is physics curriculum and teaching. Compared with similar disciplines in China, it has the advantages of high-level teachers relying on key disciplines of pedagogy and psychology and physics department, broad international vision, strong academic atmosphere created by comprehensive and research-oriented universities, pragmatic academic tradition and solid foundation of physics specialty, good students, professional teachers with reasonable age and knowledge structure, and rich books and literature resources.

In the next five years, we will set up the Institute of Physics Education, with the academic team and curriculum construction as the guide, and focus on strengthening the basic theory of physics curriculum and teaching theory and its application and development research in line with China's national conditions. Strengthen academic cooperation and exchanges at home and abroad, and send doctoral students to foreign universities to carry out cooperative research. Draw lessons from the latest achievements in the fields of sports research, scientific education research and cognitive science research at home and abroad, establish cooperative research teams and research platforms at home and abroad, and conduct in-depth research on important theoretical and practical problems that need to be solved urgently in the development of sports in China. On this basis, a new system of modern physics curriculum and teaching theory with China characteristics is constructed, which provides theoretical preparation, ideas and strategies for deepening the reform and development of physical education in China.

1, with the Institute of Physical Education as the core and the basic education curriculum and teaching reform as the platform, establish a high-level research team with the participation of domestic and foreign university teachers, teaching researchers and front-line teachers, and establish a number of sports research bases;

2. Form a research paradigm that conforms to the development trend of international physics education and the reality of physics teaching in China. On the basis of absorbing the latest research results and research methods in the field of physics education and related disciplines at home and abroad, in-depth research is carried out by integrating theory with practice, and a number of research results with important theoretical and practical value are obtained, initially forming a theoretical system of modern physics curriculum and teaching theory with China characteristics;

3. Construct a new curriculum on the basis of research, develop high-quality educational resources, meet the needs of the new curriculum and promote the professional development of physics teachers;

4. Cultivate a group of high-quality graduate students with international vision, innovative consciousness and practical ability in the research process.
