There are many types of colleges and universities. Provincial colleges and universities are led by the Provincial Department of Education. Some local institutions of higher learning run by relevant central departments and enterprises are led by relevant central departments or enterprises, and some are led by the Ministry of Education of the State Council. The Provincial Department of Education has a parallel relationship with these institutions of higher learning.
