School history: According to the record in Volume XIII of Gaozhou County Records, Gaozhou Middle School was founded in Dade eight years of Yuan Dynasty (1304), and was then called Fu Xue. In the third year (1569), governor Wu of Gaozhou changed his name to Nanyue Academy, which was consistent with the academy reform in China. In the fortieth year of Wanli (16 12), Cao Zhiyu, the magistrate, rebuilt the county school, expanded its scale, and renamed Nanyue Academy Bishan Academy. 1950, the Guangdong Provincial Department of Education named Gaozhou Middle School as "Gaozhou Middle School in Guangdong Province".
Teaching staff: Gaozhou Middle School has always had a high-level and high-quality teaching staff. The famous historian Cen and the famous singer Luo Rongju both taught in our school when they were young. At present, the school has 422 faculty members, including 397 full-time teachers. In recent years, teachers have won more than 200 national and provincial honorary titles, 8 provincial and national scientific research achievement awards, and won or published more than 300 papers at the provincial and national levels. Psychological Education Culture in Gaozhou Middle School
The school has set up an independent mental health education teaching and research group and a mental health education guidance center. The guidance center is built according to the standard of provincial mental health education model school, covering an area of 400 square meters, with functional rooms such as meeting room, office and lounge. The guidance center is open six nights a week, and there are two psychological counseling teachers on duty every night.
The school divides the task of mental health education into three layers: First, it carries out preventive and developmental mental health education for all students. The second level is to provide effective psychological counseling and counseling for a few students with psychological troubles or obstacles. The third layer is to identify and refer a few students with serious mental illness to the hospital treatment department in time.
