Life of Characters in Gong Bingquan's Works
He studied in Dongchuan Academy in his early years and studied under the famous Confucian scholar Zhao Xi in the late Qing Dynasty. At the beginning of the 20th century, the Qing government wanted to train "New Deal" talents, and the people also demanded to learn advanced western culture, which set off a nationwide upsurge of setting up schools and studying abroad. Cultivating talents and setting up schools are important ways. Another way to train talents is to send students to study abroad. According to the regulations of the Qing government, the provincial governors, the Zongren government and the Eight Banners all sent overseas students and rewarded them to study at their own expense. At that time, Japan was the main way to study abroad, and only a few officials paid for studying in Europe and America. 190 1 year, Sichuan sent students to study in Japan at public expense for the first time, including Gong Bingquan, Chen Chonggong (who joined the delegation in Japan for the first time in 1905) and Hu Jingyi. In the 28th year of Guangxu (1902), he was selected in the scientific research, 1906 joined the Chongqing branch of China League, and 19 10 was elected as a member of the Sichuan Provincial Advisory Bureau. 1911165438+10 participated in the Xinhai uprising in Chongqing in mid-October, overthrowing the Qing government's rule in Chongqing and eastern Sichuan.

Mr. Gong Bingquan is good at ancient Chinese prose and poetry, and he is the author of Shuowen Genji. 1926, he and Xiang Chu successively served as the editor-in-chief of Ba County Records, but failed due to lack of materials. 1936 When the Records of Ba County were edited again at the beginning of Xiang, Gong Bingquan successfully edited it, which was divided into three chapters: agriculture, mulberry and autonomy. His account of the history of farming and mulberry autonomy is well-founded, criticizing the shortcomings of the times, not hiding it from those in power, truthfully reflecting the rural situation at that time and adding a lot of color to history.

After the founding of the Republic of China, Gong Bingquan twice served as president of East Sichuan Normal School (predecessor of Southwest University) and professor of Chinese Department of Chongqing University. As a pioneer and forerunner of new education in Bayu, he has trained many outstanding talents for Bayu society. I don't ask politics in my later years, thinking that villagers enjoy practicing medicine and treating diseases.
