II. Introduction of Hunan Institute of Engineering and Technology
Hunan Engineering Vocational and Technical College is a state-owned public full-time ordinary institution of higher learning, which is registered by the Ministry of Education, approved by the Hunan Provincial People's Government and sponsored by the Hunan Provincial Department of Natural Resources. Since the establishment of 1958, the college has always adhered to the school-running philosophy of "inheriting geological culture and cultivating high-quality engineering talents with technical skills", adhering to the school motto of "having both ability and political integrity, integrating knowledge and practice", basing itself on "engineering", taking root in natural resources industry and connecting natural resources with civil engineering industry, thus forming a characteristic development of "establishing a school by engineering exploration, developing a school by engineering construction and strengthening the school by engineering service". The College has defined the construction idea of "two unifications" to serve the national development strategy, the high-quality development of Hunan's economy and society, and the management of natural resources, and constructed a development pattern of "one body and two wings" professional cluster with engineering survey, engineering construction and engineering management as the main body and engineering design and engineering operation and maintenance as the two wings. Under the correct leadership and cordial care of the Provincial Department of Natural Resources and the Provincial Department of Education, and through the joint efforts of teachers and students of the whole college, the college has been built into a "model (backbone) higher vocational college in Hunan Province", "civilized unit in Hunan Province", "advanced university in Party building work in Hunan Province" and "safe university in Hunan Province". The college covers an area of more than 600 mu, with total assets of 490 million yuan, full-time students 1 10,000, and more than 700 faculty members, of which "double-qualified" full-time teachers account for 86%, more than 200 teachers with senior titles, 6 provincial professional leaders and 8 provincial backbone teachers.
The college has "five departments, two institutes and one center" such as resource engineering department, architectural engineering department, civil engineering department, information engineering department, management engineering department, mechanical development center, basic course department, ideological and political course department, continuing education college and innovation and entrepreneurship college, and has set up 33 majors. At present, the college has a provincial first-class professional group of engineering survey 1, 2 major supported by the central government, 2 provincial-level specialty of engineering survey technology and construction engineering technology, 3 provincial-level specialty of engineering survey technology, construction engineering technology and hotel management, and 3 provincial-level pilot specialties of engineering survey technology, construction engineering technology and hotel management. The college has excellent internship and training conditions, with 178 off-campus internship and training base and 1 16 on-campus training room. Among them, the five professional training areas of the College have been identified by the state and Hunan Province as "Construction Technology Training Base Supported by the Central Government", "Productive Practice Training Base for School-enterprise Cooperation of Engineering Cost in Hunan Province", "Engineering Surveying Technology Training Base in Hunan Province" and "Construction Technology Training Base in Hunan Province". All along, the college has continuously improved the quality of personnel training and trained more than 60 thousand technical and skilled engineering talents for the society. The college actively promotes the "1+X" certificate system, and students can obtain the national vocational qualification certificate corresponding to their major at the same time. The College has signed agreements with Jishou University and hunan city university. And graduates can be promoted to the corresponding undergraduate colleges. For three consecutive years, the college won the excellent unit in the special supervision and evaluation of the "Top-ranking Project" for the employment of college graduates in the province, and was awarded the "Hunan University Student Employment and Entrepreneurship Demonstration School" for three consecutive years on 20 14-20 16. In 20 18, the incubation base for college students' innovation and entrepreneurship was established as the "Demonstration Base for College Students' Innovation and Entrepreneurship Incubation in Hunan Province".
