Chinese opera has two campuses, one in Changping and the other in Dongcheng.

The secondary school affiliated to China Theatre Academy (the secondary drama school affiliated to China Theatre Academy) is located at No.39 Taoranting Road, Xuanwu District, Beijing. It is a secondary art vocational school that trains reserve talents for national and capital art colleges. It is an important part of China Theatre Academy, and currently serves as Dean Xu Chao and Secretary of Yang Yu. As a self-contained independent teaching entity, the affiliated middle school now offers many majors, such as Peking Opera performance, Peking Opera instrumental accompaniment, basic theory of traditional opera composition, stage art, national instrumental performance, dance performance, film and television performance and so on.

The Central Academy of Drama, directly under the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (PRC), is the headquarters of the China Higher Drama Education Alliance, the headquarters of the Asian Drama Education Research Center, the secretariat of the World Federation of Drama Schools, and the activity base of the World Federation of Drama Schools International University Drama Festival. The Central Academy of Drama is the first drama education institution in New China, and it has a UNESCO seat in drama education.
