Legal basis: Article 8 of the Law of People's Republic of China (PRC) on the Promotion of Private Education, the education administrative department of the local people's government at or above the county level is in charge of private education within its administrative area.

The administrative departments of human resources and social security of the local people's governments at or above the county level and other relevant departments shall be responsible for the relevant private education within their respective functions and duties.
