Rural education plays a fundamental, leading and overall role in building a well-off society in an all-round way. The emphasis and difficulty of education in China lies in rural areas, especially in rural primary and secondary schools in the central and western regions. At present, there are 530,000 rural primary and secondary schools (including rural primary school teaching points) below the county level, accounting for 88% of the total number of primary and secondary schools, with 65,438+62 million students and 8 1% of the total number of primary school students. These areas, especially the rural areas in the central and western regions, have a huge gap with developed areas in terms of teaching conditions, educational resources, teacher level and teaching quality. The best way to solve this problem is to implement modern distance education project, promote the sharing of quality education resources between urban and rural areas, improve the quality and efficiency of rural education, strengthen teacher training, actively introduce external quality education resources, improve teaching quality, narrow the educational gap between the east and the west, and realize the balanced development of basic education. At the same time, it provides farmers with economic and market information, helps them learn scientific planting and breeding techniques, and further promotes local social and economic development.

The project plans to equip about 1 10000 rural primary school teaching points with teaching CD playing equipment and complete sets of teaching CDs in about five years, and provide high-quality education and teaching resources for about 5 100000 primary school students in these teaching points to solve the problems of weak teachers and low teaching quality; 384,000 rural primary schools in China have been initially built into satellite teaching observation points, basically meeting the demand of 814200 rural primary school students for quality education and teaching resources. At the same time, the satellite teaching viewing point will also become the main support of modern distance education for rural party member cadres determined by the central government. Make 37,500 rural junior high schools in China basically have computer classrooms, so that 310.09 million rural junior high schools can gradually share high-quality education and teaching resources and receive information technology education like 34.95 million urban junior high schools, laying a good foundation for promoting the informationization of the whole society.
