The history of Yongzheng in Qing Dynasty
Yong Zhengdi ascended the throne before Yin Zhen, and the prince ranked fourth, so it was called the May 4th Movement. According to some historical data (including unofficial history), Yin Zhen was originally a part of Prince Yin Yong and had a good relationship with him. Later, because Yin Yong was deposed, Yin Zhen began to turn his attention to the throne, but his political opponent, May 8th, was extremely popular among all May brothers and ministers. The competition for the crown prince is becoming increasingly fierce, and they have to help the crown prince again. But later, the prince was still extravagant and corrupt, and Kangxi was determined to abolish it again. Kangxi also knew that eldest brother had calculated the crown prince behind him in order to seize the position of the crown prince, and was forbidden to enter the imperial clan mansion forever. Seeing that the situation was not good, the big bosses quit on their own, and some began to converge. In this way, the prince once again seized the throne. Later, there were several preliminary candidates in Kangxi's heart, which were not liked by Kangxi or highly recommended by ministers. Among them, the May 4th Movement and the May 8th Movement are two major factions, but many people support the May 8th Movement. Kangxi was very wary of this until a foreign invasion in the northwest, and Yin Zhen recommended May 14th (familiar with the art of war and good at fighting) as General Fuyuan. Kangxi was secretly happy because the May 4th Movement and the May 4th Movement were born to one mother. And May 14th is also May 8th. When Kangxi thought that the country was in trouble, Yin Zhen could put aside contradictions, put the country first, and actively recommended Fourteen May, who disagreed with himself, as the general of the northwest, and he would certainly be able to take on a big post in the future. But at that time, many ministers and princes thought that which prince could be a general was the next monarch, but their ideas about Kangxi were wrong, which is why people said that sacredness was unpredictable at that time. It was not until later, according to historical records, before Kangxi died in Changchun Garden, he ordered you to go, met with Mei to grant the throne alone, and drew up a book of succession. Then, after the death of Kangxi, Yin Zhen immediately took control of the relieving of the whole capital with Kangxi's gold medal, and one party had to admit it in May, and on May 14th in the northwest, Yin Zhen ordered the relieving of the relieving and transferred it back to the capital. Yin Zhen acceded to the throne in this way, but there are still people who say that Kangxi passed the throne. The May 4th Movement changed the imperial edict, but historical records say that Kangxi did inherit Yin Zhen. In this regard, succession to the throne is controversial, but Yin Zhen has acceded to the throne, and there is no way to argue about it. After Yin Zhen acceded to the throne, after Yongzheng acceded to the throne, Yong Zhengdi specialized in treating corrupt officials to save the money shortage in various provinces. In order to improve the financial situation of the Qing dynasty, various new laws were implemented, such as spreading land into mu and returning fire to the people. It slowed down and slowly reversed the economic distress of the Qing dynasty, but Yongzheng also had bad records, such as Daxing Wenzi Prison, which made future generations evaluate it badly. However, after Yongzheng came to power, he did not tolerate "greed" or "laziness", and he grasped it with both hands and was hard. He killed corrupt officials first, kept the pressure high, and made officials tremble at the word "money". When executing the death penalty for corrupt officials, officials are often organized to observe. He believes that on-site warning education is much more useful than letting officials learn The Analects. At the same time, the Yongzheng Award for being diligent and punishing laziness forced officials to change their style and change their minds. Everyone woke up from a dream and realized that being an official is not bad now, but it was too easy to be an official in the past; Anyone who muddles along like before will only mess with himself. As a result, officials at all levels quickly adapted to the new situation and took action one after another. The official atmosphere quickly reversed, known as "Yongzheng was in power, and there was no official and unclear." At this point, the Qing dynasty began to become powerful. By the end of Yongzheng's reign, the state treasury had as much as 50 million taels of silver, while when Yongzheng ascended the throne, the state treasury was less than 7 million taels. At that time, the economy of the Qing Dynasty was still rising, and the national finance became more and more abundant, which laid a solid economic foundation for the development after the Qing Dynasty. Yongzheng is only in power. According to records, it is due to diligence in political affairs and overwork. The evaluation of Yongzheng is generally good. The Qing dynasty can be strong, or benefit from the credit of Yongzheng. Kangxi is the martial art of sandwich, which has made great contributions to the consolidation of national unity. Then Yongzheng began to govern the internal affairs and make the country rich and strong. Without the diligent work of Yongzheng for more than ten years, the Qing Dynasty would not be far from decline. You know, after Kangxi's death, the Qing Dynasty was powerful on the surface, but there were many disadvantages hidden. For example, official corruption is rampant, the national treasury tax revenue is low, and the local deficits in various provinces are huge (local debts are large), which leads to the decline of the Qing Dynasty only a matter of time. However, it took Yongzheng 13 years to get it, so many people say that it is true that Kangxi left a mess for Yongzheng. If you understand the situation when Yongzheng ascended the throne, you will understand that the Qing army was still relatively strong at that time, and it was not greatly affected, but the country. Officialdom is very serious, and Kangxi only revealed it in his later years. Kangxi wanted to rectify it, but when he was old, he was unable to do so and indulged his subordinates too much. As a result, after the death of Kangxi, the internal affairs of the Qing Dynasty were embarrassing, the bureaucracy was corrupt, and cronyism was adopted. After Yongzheng succeeded to the throne, he could not give orders to all localities completely in the early stage. Many local provinces are also disobedient, taking advantage of loopholes and paying less taxes to the court. If there is a war on the border and a natural disaster occurs at home, the treasury of the Qing Dynasty can't get money, which also prompted Yongzheng to shock the corrupt officials in the Qing Dynasty and rectify a large number of officials and relatives. Yongzheng offended many people when he was in power, but the Qing dynasty became stronger and stronger. Like Emperor Qianlong, his prosperity at that time, I think, was based on Kangxi and Yongzheng. Kangxi practiced martial arts, angered foreign enemies, expanded territory, consolidated the territorial unity of the Qing Dynasty, worked diligently, refreshed official management and boosted the economy. The prosperity of the Qing dynasty came from this, but Yongzheng died only in 13, and fell ill because of fatigue. After Qianlong acceded to the throne, he gradually changed many Yongzheng policies, and at the same time appeased the royalty who had been punished by his father Yongzheng. In the mid-Qianlong period, the national strength of the Qing Dynasty slowly declined. It's a pity that I won't talk about the latter. On the whole, Yongzheng was a good emperor. I don't think there is anything wrong with Yongzheng being emperor.
