(1) 1862, under the auspices of Yixin, the Prime Minister's yamen set up Shi Jing Wentong Museum, and hired foreigners to teach English, French and other languages, which was the first new school founded by Westernization School.

② 1863, Li Hongzhang founded the Guangdong Pavilion in Shanghai.

By the mid-1990s, Westernization School had successively established more than 20 new schools, including Fuzhou Ship Administration School and Tianjin Navy School.

These schools have trained a large number of foreign language, scientific and technological military talents, which has played a role in opening up the atmosphere.

Step 2 Choose international students

① 1872 Zeng Guofan sent Yung Wing to lead the first batch of 30 young children to study in the United States. Since then, three groups of young children have been sent to the United States.

② Fuzhou Ship Administration School also sent three groups of overseas students to Britain, France and other countries to study the navy, and many of them became the backbone of Beiyang Navy after returning home.
