This is because the mode of production in society is the unity of opposites between productivity and production relations. It is impossible for any society to have relations of production divorced from productive forces, nor can it have productive forces divorced from productive relations. Therefore, the two social functions of education to adapt to and serve the productive forces and relations of production in a certain society are also linked. However, due to the different development level of social productive forces and the different development stages of the contradictory movement with production relations, the functions of the two social functions of education also present different situations.
