If a student has been sick for more than three months continuously or cannot adhere to normal study due to other special reasons, his parents or other guardians shall submit a written application to the school, and issue a certificate from a medical unit at or above the county level or other valid certificates. After being examined by the school and reported to the competent education administrative department for approval, he may suspend his studies.

Take a semester off

The suspension period of students should generally be one academic year, with no more than two times.

Application for resumption of schooling

Students who need to resume their studies after the expiration of the suspension period must apply to the school by their parents or other guardians within 15 days before the expiration of the suspension period, submit relevant supporting materials, and resume their studies after being examined and approved by the school, and report to the competent education administrative department for approval.

Keep one's student status

Students who drop out of school should go through the formalities of dropping out of school, and the school keeps their status. During the period of suspension, students do not enjoy the treatment of studying at school.

Retired students

Students who apply to join the China People's Liberation Army (including the Chinese People's Armed Police Force) will retain their school status until one year after retirement.
