Recently, the Ministry of Education issued the "Guiding Outline of Labor Education in Universities, Schools and Colleges (Trial)", which requires that compulsory courses of labor education be set up in universities, schools and colleges, and labor literacy should be included in the comprehensive quality evaluation system of students. The "Guiding Outline" is mainly aimed at schools, focusing on what is labor education, what to teach and how to teach, refining relevant requirements and strengthening professional guidance.

The "Guiding Outline" clearly points out that labor education is to give full play to the educational function of labor, carry out educational activities that students love labor and working people, enhance students' labor concept, and carry forward the labor spirit of diligence, struggle, innovation and dedication; Emphasis on full participation, hands-on thinking, and experience the actual labor process; We should give full play to the educational function of traditional labor technology projects, keep up with the development of science and technology and industrial changes, and reflect the requirements of the times; We should also give full play to students' initiative and enthusiasm and encourage innovation and creation. The guiding outline stipulates that the contents of labor education mainly include three aspects: daily life labor education, productive labor education and service labor education. Among them, daily life labor education should let students deal with personal affairs, cultivate good living habits and health habits, and strengthen their sense of self-reliance; Productive labor education should let students experience the process of creating material wealth in industrial and agricultural production, enhance product quality awareness and experience the greatness in ordinary labor; Service labor education should focus on making students use the knowledge and skills they have learned to serve others and society and enhance their sense of social responsibility.

The "Guiding Outline" requires that labor education should be included in the whole process of talent training, and the ways to implement labor education should be enriched and expanded.

Compulsory courses of labor education should be set up in universities, middle schools and primary schools. Among them, the labor education class in primary and secondary schools is not less than 1 class hour per week, which is used for activity planning, skill guidance, practice, summary and exchange, etc. And make necessary coordination with general technology, local courses, school-based courses and other related contents. Vocational colleges offer compulsory courses for special labor education, with no less than 16 class hours; Mainly around the labor spirit, labor model spirit, craftsman spirit, labor organization, labor safety and labor laws and regulations. Ordinary colleges and universities should incorporate labor education into the training plan of professional talents and make clear the courses they mainly rely on. They can set up labor education modules in existing courses, or set up special compulsory courses for labor education, with an undergraduate course of not less than 32 hours; The course content should strengthen the education of Marxist labor view, popularize the general labor science knowledge closely related to students' career development, and experience the necessary practical experience.

At the same time, schools should organically infiltrate labor education into disciplines and majors, and arrange labor practice in extracurricular activities. The weekly working hours of extracurricular activities and family life in primary and secondary schools are not less than 2 hours in primary school 1 to grade 2, and not less than 3 hours in other grades. Vocational colleges and universities should clarify the labor matters and time in life and bring them into the daily management of students. Universities, primary schools and secondary schools set up a labor week every academic year.

The Ministry of Education requires that labor literacy should be included in the comprehensive quality evaluation system of students, and process evaluation and result evaluation should be combined based on the objectives and content requirements of labor education, so as to encourage and support all localities to use modern information technology means such as big data, cloud platform and Internet of Things to carry out labor education process monitoring and documentary evaluation, and give play to the educational orientation and feedback improvement functions of evaluation.
