September 5th was chosen to commemorate Mother Teresa who died in Calcutta. 1979 Theresa was awarded the nobel peace prize for her efforts to overcome poverty and suffering that threatened peace.
Teresa, a famous nun and missionary, was born in 19 10, formerly known as Agnes Gonza Bozachu. 1928, Theresa went to India to help the poor. 1948, she became an Indian citizen. 1950, she founded the Missionary Sisters, a charity in Calcutta. She is famous for her dedication to helping the poor and devoted her life to this great cause.
For more than 45 years, she has helped the poor, the sick, the orphans and the dying in India and other places. Including housing and shelter for the poorest and homeless. At the same time, she directed the development of the Sisters of Charity Missionary. Her work has been recognized and widely praised all over the world. Mother Teresa won many awards and honors, including the Nobel Peace Prize. Mother Teresa died on September 5, 1997 at the age of 87.
