Self-taught examination for higher education, referred to as self-taught examination for short, was established with the approval of 198 1 the State Council. This is a self-study exam for higher education. It is a nationally recognized academic qualification.

State-recognized academic qualifications: Generally speaking, it refers to a college or undergraduate diploma (academic certificate) that meets the requirements recognized by state government agencies and educational institutions.

The basic requirements are as follows:

1. Those who pass the college entrance examination and are admitted to colleges and universities hold the graduation certificate of ordinary colleges and universities;

2. Those who pass the entrance examination for adult colleges and universities and are admitted hold the graduation certificate of adult colleges and universities;

3. Self-study exam graduation certificate;

4. Diploma of Higher Education Examination;

5. Graduation certificates of military academies shall be jointly issued by the General Staff and the Ministry of Education;

6. The graduation certificate of the Party School shall be an adult college graduation certificate issued by the Ministry of Education;

7. Adult higher education forms approved by the Ministry of Education that belong to the national education series, such as adult college entrance examination, distance network education, open education, etc.

Self-taught examination is an important part of China's higher education. It is a national examination system for higher education based on academic qualifications. It is a form of higher education that combines individual self-study, social assistance and national examination. After systematic study, students who have passed graduation thesis defense and degree English examination can apply for granting adult bachelor's degree, take postgraduate examination and continue to study for master's and doctoral degrees.
