An Overview of the History of Chaozhou Normal Branch of Hanshan Normal University
Founded in 1958, Chaozhou Normal College of Hanshan Normal University was formerly known as "Chaoan Normal School" and "Chaozhou Normal School", which is an important base for training primary school teachers in Chaozhou. 1996 passed the standardized acceptance of normal school conditions and became one of the 36 "up to standard" normal schools in the province. The campus covers an area of 60 mu, with a building area of 32 100 square meter. With the transformation of normal education from the old three-tier system to the new three-tier system, the restructuring of Chaozhou Normal University is imperative. With the great attention of the Chaozhou Municipal Party Committee, the municipal government and the higher education authorities, the Guangdong Provincial People's Government issued a letter on 2001kloc-0/2, approving the merger of Chaozhou Normal School into Hanshan Normal College, with Chaozhou Education Bureau as the competent unit, and canceling the independent establishment of normal schools. At the same time, the Provincial Department of Education also stipulates that such secondary colleges should be included in the overall development plan of ordinary colleges and universities, as one of the components of colleges and universities, and undertake the training of primary school teachers at the specialist level and in-service primary school teachers.
