Xiangtan Open University (formerly Xiangtan Radio and TV University) was founded on 1979, and was officially renamed Xiangtan Open University on February 23rd, 2026. The school is located at No.6 Gaoling Road, next to the North Second Ring Road in Xiangtan City, covering an area of nearly 200 mu, with a building area of more than 60,000 square meters, a campus greening area of more than 65%, and campus fixed assets of more than 60 million yuan.
