What is a reading explorer?
Reading Explorer (RE for short) is a graded reading textbook jointly developed by Cengage, the world's largest educational publishing group, which provides learning resources for students in grade PreK- 12 and cooperates with National Geographic Learning.
It includes six different basic levels, level 1-5. It is not only suitable for English learners who want to improve their reading ability, but also for those who need to take KET, PET, TOEFL and IELTS exams. This textbook is not only used by American private schools, but also used as designated extracurricular reading materials by domestic key middle schools and international schools.
What is the content of the reading explorer?
RE has 12 units in each textbook, and each unit is divided into two articles, A and B, covering classical academic topics such as human geography, biological science and social history. Only by pursuing systematic reading skills and cultivating students' critical thinking can students truly love reading and feel the charm of the world with words and pictures.
Recommended reason:
1. National Geographic provides a resource library with rich topics: each unit is not only equipped with a large number of beautiful pictures, but also involves global discussion topics such as human geography, biological sciences and social history. Therefore, as an academic reading, it is more attractive to students than other non-fiction (non-fiction) graded reading, and its extensive knowledge can also provide material for future writing.
2. Systematic and scientific English reading skills training: each reading skill link clearly teaches learners an academic skill or strategy to steadily improve their reading comprehension. The mind map design in this paper combines text, icons, graphics and images to encourage learners to develop visual literacy skills and improve their understanding ability.
3. In-depth establishment of critical thinking: from the initial warm-up questions to the reading comprehension after each article and the final critical thinking, open and heuristic questions are everywhere, and each question is infinitely extending students' critical thinking ability.
