As the name implies, dual courses are a kind of courses jointly run by two universities, that is, Malaysian universities are jointly run by Britain, the United States, Australia and Singapore (mostly private universities).
In fact, it is to transfer part or all of the courses of the new famous schools in Britain, America and Australia to Malaysian branch schools or cooperative colleges, and obtain academic diplomas or degree certificates from the new famous schools in Britain, America and Australia upon graduation.
I. Course classification
Dual courses in Malaysia are mainly divided into 3+0 courses, 1+2 courses and 2+ 1 courses, most of which are offered by private colleges.
"3+0" course means that you can get an internationally recognized education diploma without going to Britain, the United States, Australia and Singapore.
The course "2+ 1" is a course of studying in Malaysia for two years and then studying in Britain, the United States, Australia and Singapore 1 year.
The course "1+2" is a course where you study in Malaysia for 1 year and then go to Britain, the United States, Australia and Singapore for two years.
Second, the application conditions
High school students, high school graduates (including vocational high schools), junior college students, junior college graduates (including RTVU and self-taught candidates) and undergraduates can apply for undergraduate courses;
Undergraduate graduates with bachelor's degrees (including TV universities and self-taught candidates) can apply for master's degrees;
With a master's degree, you can apply for intensive courses, such as one-year MBA courses.
Third, the curriculum advantages
1. Improve oral English. Although IELTS scores are not required before admission, English is still very popular in Malaysia, especially in private schools, which can help foreign students improve their oral and written English in both directions.
2. Get a diploma with high gold content at the least cost. Dual courses mainly include 3+0,2+1,1+2. You can choose to study in Malaysia for 1-2 years, then go to a joint school for 1 year, or finish your studies directly in China and get a third-country diploma. Studying directly in a third country costs 200,000-300,000 a year, and choosing a school offering dual courses costs about 80,000 a year, which can reduce a lot of expenses compared with studying in Britain and the United States for three years.
3. International open teaching mode. Malaysia, once ruled by Britain, is a Commonwealth country, which follows the British legal system and educational model, has the characteristics of openness in the west and a high degree of internationalization. The implementation of dual courses is easily recognized internationally.
Fourth, the disadvantages of curriculum.
1. Some schools offering this course only issue one diploma, which is the diploma of the second or third country, because colleges and universities are not qualified to issue diplomas (only colleges and universities are qualified to issue their own diplomas), which is different from the double degree in China.
2. The transcripts are also issued by universities in third countries, not our school transcripts.
