The school, formerly known as Shanghai Electric Appliance Manufacturing School, has experienced the development and evolution of Shanghai Electric Machine Manufacturing School, Shanghai Electric Machine Manufacturing Technology College and Shanghai Electric Machine Technology College. 1985 school held the first batch of five-year junior college education in China, and was listed as a national key construction higher vocational college in 2002.
