The Master of Finance Mathematics of Hong Kong University of Science and Technology covers mathematics, statistics, finance and computer science. This course aims to train undergraduates in quantitative disciplines such as mathematics, statistics and calculation to become contemporary financial and wealth management professionals.

The master's course is offered in the Faculty of Science, so there is no fierce competition in business investment management and other majors. However, it is not difficult to apply for this major, and students with science and engineering backgrounds are more popular. The minimum requirement for HKUST application is IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL 80, but most of the students actually admitted are far above this minimum line. Although it is not mandatory to take GRE or GMAT, a good score will definitely add points to the application.
