Nanjing Xiaozhuang College was founded by the great people's educator Mr. Tao Xingzhi in March 1927, and was once the principal of Xiaozhuang Experimental Rural Normal School.
In March 2000, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, the former Nanjing Normal University, Nanjing Education College and Nanjing Xiaozhuang Normal School merged to form a full-time public undergraduate college.
