The predecessor of the College of Education of Tianjin Normal University is the Department of Education of Tianjin Normal University. 1975 Tianjin normal university set up the teaching and research section, which is responsible for the teaching tasks of public courses of pedagogy and psychology. 1979 the institute of educational science was established, with the late Mr. Li Jizhi as the director and Mr. Tian Benna and Mr. Li Huaimei as the deputy directors. The College of Education now has: Department of Education, Department of Modern Educational Technology, Department of Psychology, Department of Preschool Education and Department of Teacher Education; There are five undergraduate majors: pedagogy (education management direction), educational technology, applied psychology, preschool education and home economics; There are psychological and behavioral research centers, curriculum and teaching research centers, mental health guidance centers, teacher education research institutes, modern educational technology research institutes, and education science center laboratories; In the mid-1980s, the Institute of Education was awarded a master's degree in developmental psychology, curriculum and teaching theory. In the mid-1990s, he was awarded a doctorate in developmental psychology and a master's degree in educational principles and educational technology. In 2000, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, the Psychological and Behavioral Research Center was one of the "Key Research Bases of Humanities and Social Sciences of the Ministry of Education 100". In 2003, with the approval of the State Council, he was granted the right to confer a doctorate in psychology as a first-class discipline and a postdoctoral mobile station. In 2006, he was awarded the first-class subject of Master of Education, and in the same year, he was awarded the master's degree in Chinese and foreign education history, preschool education and comparative education. In 2007, development and educational psychology was rated as a national key discipline, and curriculum and teaching theory as a municipal key discipline. There are 463 students in five undergraduate majors. There are 2 14 graduate students in pedagogy and psychology, among which 3 1 graduate students in psychology. More than 3,500 undergraduates in this school are studying teacher education courses in the College of Education.
