Donghua University, located in Shanghai, China, is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (PRC). It is a national "world-class discipline construction university" and a national "2 1 1 project" key construction university, and was selected as a "leading university" in the national "201/plan".

Donghua University is one of the first universities in China with the right to confer doctoral, master's and bachelor's degrees. It is also one of the 40 key universities in the "Subject Construction Plan for Aid to Xinjiang" of the Ministry of Education, and one of the first batch of 28 national quality certification institutions for studying abroad. It is a founding member of the high-quality resource sharing alliance of high-level industry-specific universities and the "Belt and Road" World Textile University Alliance.
