The Department of Stage Art of China Theatre Academy began to build on 1979, and the first undergraduate course of stage art of drama was enrolled on 1982. Since then, it has opened up a new world for the higher education of China opera stage art specialty. With the development and progress of the times, in recent years, we have carried out teaching in six professional directions: fashion design, stage lighting design, makeup modeling design, beauty dance project design and management, and fashion technology and management. Therefore, it has become an important base for cultivating high-level talents in stage art in China. The Department of Dance Art has a strong teaching team and enjoys a high reputation in both academia and industry. The Department of Dance Art has more than 30 multimedia classrooms and more than 20 practical teaching laboratories. Among them, Wumei has 6 creative laboratories, covering an area of about 800 M2, 22 miniature multi-purpose combined processing machines, multiple sets of manual and electric processing tools, complete common materials and spacious exhibition and discussion space; There are 8 cosmetic modeling teaching laboratories, covering an area of about 400 M2, and 2 laboratories are used to improve the helmet heads of traditional operas and modeling figures. There are two garment processing and printing workshops, covering an area of about 200 M2. Clothing cutting design software, computer digital cutting system and small and sophisticated printing and dyeing workshop provide a broad space for teachers and students to explore teaching reform. There are 5 laboratories in the lighting design teaching studio, covering an area of about 2500M2. There are 98 representative computer lamps in 5 categories, more than 400 sets of film reflectors and color changers, 5 sets of high lumen multimedia projectors, 2 sets of the latest international computer numerical control head-shaking projectors, batch teaching equipment such as downlights, imaging lamps and floodlights, and mainstream imported dimming tables and multi-functional combination racks. , and advanced foreign special software for lighting designers, combined with mature and perfect teaching theory and system, the teaching tasks undertaken and completed have achieved good results.

In the past five years, teachers of Dance Art Department have led students to conduct extensive practical teaching research, published academic works, edited teaching materials and created more than 30 works.
