TEM-8 is called TEM-8 in Chinese universities. Since 199 1, the Ministry of Education of Chinese mainland has begun to conduct a survey of English majors in national comprehensive universities. The TEM-8 examination for English majors is sponsored by the Teaching Steering Committee for Foreign Language Majors in colleges and universities (not sponsored by the Ministry of Education).
