2. Due to the limitation of natural conditions and the imbalance of socio-economic and cultural development, especially due to the influence of traditional customs, there are still a few illiterates in China, especially in poor mountainous areas, and female illiterates account for more than two thirds of the total number of illiterates; Girls account for about 2/3 of out-of-school children!
Today's girl is the future mother. The quality of mothers will affect the quality of the whole nation in the future. To improve women's quality, we must start with girls' education, implement the spring bud plan and support girls' enrollment. It is a basic project to improve the quality of citizens and benefit future generations, and it is also a key step to consolidate and popularize nine-year compulsory education and eliminate illiteracy among young and middle-aged people in China. In order to strengthen girls' quality education and cultivate their ability to build their hometown by themselves, UNICEF China has also set up a special fund for practical technical training of Spring Bud Project.
Up to now, the implementation of the Spring Bud Program has spread all over the country, raising a total of more than 600 million yuan to help 6.5438+0.5 million out-of-school girls return to school.
The Spring Bud Project hopes to get donations from people of insight and units at home and abroad, and set up more classes for Spring Bud daughters in poverty-stricken areas across the country.
(Note: The "Spring Bud Plan" has always been highly valued and supported by the party and state leaders. On June 1 day every year, representatives of girls in Spring Bud are cordially received by the party and state leaders. )
