The former Sichuan University was founded in 1896 by Lu, Governor of Sichuan Province. It is the earliest modern institution of higher learning in southwest China. 1994, the former Sichuan University and the former Chengdu University of Technology merged into Sichuan United University, and 1998 restored the name of Sichuan University. In 2000, it merged with the former West China University of Medical Sciences to form a new Sichuan University.
The school has three campuses, Wangjiang, Huaxi and Jiang 'an, covering an area of 7,050 mu, with a school building area of 2,826,438+0.800 square meters. Meishan Campus is under construction. There are 6,794 teaching and research posts, with more than 37,000 full-time undergraduates and 29,000 doctoral students. Sichuan University is located in Chengdu, a famous historical and cultural city in China. It has three campuses, namely Wangjiang, Huaxi and Jiang 'an, covering an area of 7,050 mu and a building area of 2,806,400 square meters. The school is cooperating with Meishan City to build Meishan Campus of Sichuan University.
