The main campus of Altai National Technical University is located in the scenic city of Barnaul in southern Russia, only 200 kilometers away from Novosibirsk, the third largest city in Russia, with convenient transportation. With two campuses, bisk and Robtsovsk, it is one of the largest famous universities in Russia. It is the university with the largest number of students in Russia and even Asia. This school has a long history. Its predecessor was Saparozhsk Institute of Machinery. It moved to Banauer in 194 1 and later became the famous Altai Institute of Technology. 1992 officially changed its name to Altay State University of Technology.
