English teacher internship report Intern: XXX worked as an intern in Ningxiang No.6 Senior Middle School (hereinafter referred to as Ningxiang No.6 Middle School) from the end of June 2009 to the end of October. During my internship, I served as an English teacher in Senior One and Senior Two. Located in a town in Ningxiang, No.6 Middle School is a typical rural middle school. I am not familiar with the procedures and requirements of teaching activities because of my shallow teaching experience. I dare not neglect teaching work, study hard, study teaching methods deeply, learn from experienced teachers in the school with an open mind, and gain a lot of information about the current situation of English teaching in middle schools and knowledge and skills about English teaching. The following is my teaching situation and investigation report this month. Teaching is teaching and learning, which are interrelated and inseparable. Where there is a teacher, there must be a scholar. Students are the subject of education. Therefore, it is very important to understand and analyze students' situation and carry out targeted teaching. When I first arrived at the school, I didn't understand the basic situation and foundation of the school students, and I didn't notice the importance of the students' role in my teaching activities. At first, I just studied books and teaching materials, constantly looked through the materials, and tried my best to make the classroom lively, ignoring the connection between the teaching content and the students and not paying attention to understanding the students' level. I met a nail in teaching the first class. According to my study plan and teaching plan, I had an English class that I thought was vivid and easy to accept. I tried very hard to talk about the teaching content prepared in advance on the podium, and slowly found that students gradually lost their interest in learning from the initial eyeful of expectations, and finally fewer and fewer people were able to listen carefully. After class, I listened carefully to the students' reactions, and after careful thinking, I realized that the students' foundation was not as good as I expected, and most students could not understand my spoken English. At first, the students took classes because of the novelty of the new teacher. Because I didn't master English well enough, I simply stopped listening after I didn't understand it. It can be seen that I don't know the real situation of students before class, which makes my teaching work go astray. Think about it. On the one hand, students in rural areas are relatively weak in English listening and speaking. Although their students have been learning English since the third or fourth grade of primary school, the educational facilities in primary school and even junior high school are not at a relatively high level in hardware and software. There are no good learning conditions in hardware, no language lab, no multimedia facilities and no good English teachers in software. Their English study only emphasizes good grades in one exam, and almost completely ignores English listening ability and English speaking ability. Therefore, when teaching, they use all English. On the other hand, my class is more active. At first, the class atmosphere is very positive, but in fact, the average students account for the majority, and the top students are relatively few, which means that the middle and lower levels are relatively wide. If the knowledge is not detailed enough, the overall level will not be taken into account. I didn't notice this at all when preparing lessons, so the teaching effect was not ideal. From this, I come to the conclusion that understanding and analyzing students' practice, seeking truth from facts, analyzing specific problems and teaching students in accordance with their aptitude have a direct impact on the teaching effect. The theory of "preparing students while preparing teaching methods" in pedagogy has been verified in my teaching practice. In teaching activities, preparing lessons is an indispensable and very important link, the object of preparing lessons and teaching methods. Inadequate or inadequate preparation of lessons will seriously affect the classroom atmosphere and enthusiasm. When I was an intern, a teacher told me, "Be sure to prepare lessons well before class. If you don't prepare lessons well, you might as well not attend classes, or you will waste time. " After I understood the importance of preparing lessons, I spent a lot of time on preparing lessons and studied textbooks and lesson plans carefully until I was satisfied. Later, it turned out that I was right. A well-prepared class is good for both students and teachers. For example, when I teach students Unit 3, the theme of this class is "Looking good and feeling good", that is, "Appearance and health". I realize that this is a topic that students are more interested in, but it is more difficult to teach. A good subject will be wasted and students will not be interested. Of course, you won't be able to understand the key points of this unit well. In order to teach this class well, I studied the text carefully, found out the key points and difficulties, and prepared to make a targeted speech. In order to make teaching lively and not boring, I went to the internet and other places to find a lot of knowledge related to this unit. For example, there is news that some people lose weight and have plastic surgery in order to become beautiful; How to change appearance by wearing clothes to change temperament; There are also about the influence of exercise on people's health and so on. In the warm-up part of this unit, I intend to introduce the theme of this unit with these materials, and then get down to business. Facts have proved that my idea is appropriate and my lesson preparation is successful. Before entering the focus of the unit, I told the students these information, materials and stories, which made them very interested in the study behind the whole unit. Several boys who are not active in class at ordinary times also listened carefully, and I took the initiative to mention the English words and expressions I used. This classroom effect is the best reward for my careful preparation of lessons. It can be seen that preparing lessons is very important for a good class, especially for a subject that students are not familiar with, such as English. Adequate preparation before class will make students learn more easily and make teachers' teaching less complicated. Adequate preparation can arouse students' enthusiasm, and the effect of class is good, but at the same time, we must have the ability to control the class. Every move of students in the classroom will directly affect the classroom teaching, so we must try our best to let students participate in the classroom and not distract them. It is a very particular method to let students concentrate on the class for 45 minutes. My understanding is that the classroom should be rich in content, realistic, natural in teaching style, vivid in lectures, moderate in difficulty and take care of everything, which will naturally attract students. In this regard, my approach is to maintain sufficient spirit every day, so that students can feel a natural and cheerful atmosphere. This teaching will get twice the result with half the effort. Now I look back at my own teaching, because I am younger than the original English teacher in the school, but close to the age of the students. My energetic classroom on the podium can really attract students' attention, so as long as I am fully prepared and can properly master the classroom content, I do a good job in getting students to participate in the classroom. English is a foreign language, which is both strange and difficult for students. In such a big environment, to teach English well, it is necessary to make students love English and make students interested in English. Otherwise, students are afraid of the difficulties of this subject and are unwilling to learn, and naturally they will not be able to improve their grades. To this end, I have taken some measures. First of all, I helped my classmates to change their English names and let them call me by my English name instead of the simple and old-fashioned name "Mr. Tang". Then, I try to tell more stories about the culture and life of British and American countries in class. In fact, college courses, such as the general situation of Britain and the United States and American culture, have helped me a lot. Finally, I even helped some students make "American pen pals", which really made them know more about English and like learning English better. Only when they are interested, will they take the initiative to study, so that their grades and abilities can be improved. Students take the initiative to learn, so that teachers get twice the result with half the effort. Due to the special situation of English, students are divided in their further study. For students with poor grades, because of self-esteem, long-term grades at the bottom of the class will make interest decline again; For students with good grades, it seems to have no influence, but the expansion of poor students will seriously affect the learning atmosphere in the class. Therefore, this phenomenon must not be ignored or condoned. To this end, I made specific plans and goals after understanding this situation: I will not give up encouraging students with good foundation and good grades, I will continue to praise their progress and encourage them to learn new things; For students with poor foundation, I often chat with them alone, give them appropriate guidance, and tell them that learning is a slow process, and they can't give up their future study because of temporary achievements. I will also give them a little progress and great encouragement; For those students who have a little foundation, but their learning attitude is relatively loose, I give them separate tasks, supervise their completion, and don't give them the opportunity to be lazy, so that they can play their due level. After a month's internship, I learned a lot of knowledge and skills that were not in the textbook. However, the performance of the whole month still has many shortcomings and places worthy of serious study. I hope I can get more guidance from experienced teachers in the future, and I will constantly improve myself through my own efforts, gain good learning experience and get good academic results.
