The General Office of the State Council recently issued the Notice on Launching the National Education System Reform Pilot, and a number of education reform projects with clear reform objectives and specific policies and measures completed the filing procedures, marking the comprehensive start of the national education system reform pilot work.

The circular requires that deepening the reform of the education system should be based on the basic national conditions, follow the laws of education, emancipate the mind, be brave in practice, make bold breakthroughs, and strive to form an institutional mechanism conducive to the development of educational science. We must adhere to the people-oriented principle and focus on solving major practical problems; Adhere to overall planning and ensure the coordinated and orderly progress of reform; Adhere to local conditions and encourage local schools to experiment boldly. The "Notice" identified ten tasks of the reform pilot from three aspects: special reform, comprehensive reform in key areas and comprehensive reform in provincial government education: establishing and improving the system and mechanism for accelerating the development of preschool education; Promote the balanced development of compulsory education and solve the problem of choosing schools through various ways; Promote quality education and effectively reduce the academic burden of primary and secondary school students; Reform the running mode of vocational education and build a modern vocational education system; Reform the talent training mode and improve the quality of talent training in higher education; Reform the management mode of higher education and establish a modern university system; Adapt to the needs of economic and social development, reform the mode of running colleges and universities; Improve the development environment of private education and deepen the reform of school-running system; Improve the teacher management system and strengthen the construction of teachers; Improve the education investment mechanism and improve the level of education security.
