The disease usually begins within 3 years old, and the earliest symptoms can be abnormal several months after birth. Mainly manifested in three core symptoms, namely: interpersonal communication barriers, verbal and non-verbal communication barriers, narrow interest and rigid repetition of behavior patterns. About 3/4 children with this disease have mental retardation, and about 1/3- 1/4 children are complicated with epilepsy. Some children may have "autism ability" while their intelligence is low, such as extraordinary performance in music, calculation, date calculation, mechanical memory and recitation, and are called "idiot scholars".
People are generally pessimistic about the future of these children. Because of the three core symptoms, it is difficult for them to integrate into normal schools and society, and the gap with normal children is getting bigger and bigger, so that they can't live independently and normally.
At present, the etiology of autism is uncertain, including congenital genetic factors, various physical and chemical factors during brain development, and poor parenting in the early postpartum period. In fact, these pathogenic factors cannot be completely distinguished. Autism is a brain development disorder caused by many factors.
We can't measure the degree of congenital genetic factors in the onset of an autistic child, but we can find out the bad parenting style in its early development one by one. We have studied the personality characteristics of adults and the early growth experiences of individuals. The results show that traumatic experiences such as parents' early neglect, mental and physical abuse and excessive control will lead to distorted psychological development and abnormal personality of children. If many autistic children's early growth experiences are interviewed and evaluated by professionals, the seemingly "good" growth environment often implies a lot of harm to children's minds.
Here are some cases of autism that we have come into contact with. For example, the child's father works in other places, and the busy mother has no time to take care of the young children. In order to prevent children from crying, let cartoons accompany them. In the most critical period of children's verbal interpersonal communication, there is no one to accompany them, and the result can be imagined. There is a child whose parents are busy with work. The child was repeatedly raised by relatives in different places within 3 years old. Children constantly meet strange partners and fail to get help in time to adapt to the new environment. The child's heart gradually closed. The mother of the child is ashamed to deal with people and take care of the child alone. The child has no chance to deal with others at all. Children imitate a problem mother, loneliness is inevitable. A child was sent to training by his father. He just signed up and didn't come before the training. The reason is that his parents just finished the divorce procedure and the child was awarded to his mother. The mother can't find it anywhere with her child. How can a bad relationship between husband and wife lead to this child's autism? A mother complained to us that the father of the child usually goes to work, but after returning home, he ignores the child. He only cares about playing games online. Which is the cause in the development of children's autism?
Perhaps because I have been engaged in psychological counseling for many years, I can always find some clues that lead to children's psychological problems from their growth experience and parent-child relationship. For many autistic children and their parents, this should be a fortunate thing, because when we attribute the causes of autism to congenital factors, we will actually be very passive and negative, and we know that genetic things are difficult to change. But if we can look at the problem from the perspective of the influence of the acquired environment on individuals, when we find some inappropriate acquired factors, it will bring dawn to the change of children. Research shows that the acquired growth experience can change the structure and function of the brain. Similarly, for autistic children, effective early intervention can still change the structure and function of their brains. In fact, many autistic children have recovered their social functions and integrated into normal school and social life through professional training or parental education. A considerable number of these children have received high-intensity and long-term training, and their parents have paid a lot for it. Some parents have transformed into excellent autism trainers after years of study and training with their children.
In the traditional concept of China people, children are the future of parents. Where is the future of children? Parents should keep an optimistic attitude, change the bad parenting style, focus on the various abilities their children need in the future, and actively provide the most scientific and reasonable parenting and training for their children. At the same time, the whole society will provide various conveniences for the education and training of these children, which will undoubtedly bring a bright future to autistic children.
