This major is undertaken by East China Normal University and is open to the society.

This major consists of two academic levels: junior college and independent undergraduate course.

Basic requirements of college: having the professional ethics cultivation of mental health education and related work, and mastering the basic theory, knowledge and skills of mental health education; Have the ability to analyze and solve mental health problems in primary and secondary education by using professional knowledge.

Independent undergraduate course's basic requirements: master the theoretical knowledge and professional skills of this major, skillfully analyze practical problems in mental health, and have the ability to effectively solve mental health problems in education and social management by using professional knowledge.

1. All graduates from various colleges and universities (including self-taught) with nationally recognized academic qualifications, and graduates majoring in mental health education, pedagogy and medicine can apply for independent undergraduate course directly without additional courses.

2. All graduates of universities (including self-taught students) whose academic qualifications are recognized by the state must take a psychology course (003 1) before they can apply for this major.

3. Candidates aged 35 or above are not required to take English II, but they should take three courses: mental health and psychological counseling (0465), developmental and educational psychology (0466) and physiology (2899).
