Shaanxi Normal University is a normal university directly under the Ministry of Education. It is the first batch of "double first-class" universities in China. It is an important base for training teachers, educational management cadres and other senior professionals in universities and technical secondary schools, and is known as the "cradle of teachers".

This school has a long history. Its predecessor was Shaanxi Teachers College, which was established in 1944. 1954 was renamed Xi' an Normal University, and 1960 was merged with Shaanxi Normal University and named Shaanxi Normal University.
