Why do we need sex education for young children?
The key period of sex education is early childhood (3 to 6 years old). Under the influence of the surrounding environment, children begin to form various ideas about things, including sexual concepts, sexual attitudes and sexual moral standards. In recent years, there have been more and more incidents of child sexual assault, and the number of cases of child sexual assault reported by the media has increased significantly. It is urgent to protect children's sexual safety, which has aroused widespread concern and attention from all walks of life. Fang Gang, an expert in sex education and director of the Institute of Sex and Gender Studies of Beijing Forestry University, believes that the earlier sex education is, the better, and it is best to start from birth.

I. Problems found

There was a girl in our class whose reproductive organs were touched red by a boy in the class, but she didn't tell the teacher on the spot or go back to tell her parents, but grandma found out when she was taking a bath for her that night. She said it was painful, and she didn't tell the story until she was questioned by her grandmother. The next day, my parents came to tell us that we didn't know it had happened. I asked her at that time, why didn't you say anything at that time? She just blushed and said nothing. When she was violated, she just felt something was wrong, but she didn't know what was wrong or how to escape in time. She didn't tell her parents after being violated. The boy who touched her didn't know where he was wrong. He thinks it is the same as touching her hands, nose and ears. No one told him not to touch the child's reproductive organs.

Usually, some children like to touch the reproductive organs. During the nap, they also found that some children would hide in the quilt and roll their legs hard, and their faces would turn red. Boys like to touch their reproductive organs. This phenomenon is no stranger to kindergarten teachers.

To solve these problems, my colleagues and I also invited a child psychologist to teach them. I learned that adults often feel uneasy if children play with their genitals. In fact, this is different from the sexual desire of adults. But for children, this is just their normal behavior of exploring their own body organs. Therefore, for children's sexual activities, we can neither turn a blind eye nor exaggerate. We should base ourselves on education and help children develop smoothly.

Second, the value of sex education in kindergartens

1. Defects in the family

Family is an important place for every child to grow up, and parents are their first teachers. When children's sex education is implemented, people will first think of education in the family, and the family is endowed with a natural and relaxed environment. It can be said that parents play an important role in children's sex education. However, for a long time, parents' backward concept of child sex education and their own educational ability have affected the implementation of child sex education.

2. Social concern

Sex education in kindergartens is undoubtedly a great ideological change for all walks of life. Avoiding talking doesn't mean that the problem doesn't exist. Sex is not only related to thousands of families, but also has an important impact on social stability and harmony. Sex education in kindergartens teaches children a correct attitude, faces sexual curiosity and doubts correctly, sets up correct concepts, and avoids going astray or getting hurt.

3. Give full play to the advantages of kindergartens.

Kindergarten is a large group, where children live and study, and it is a special educational institution, so children's active sexual knowledge is mainly accomplished through school education. Kindergarten has the irreplaceable advantages of other educational channels, and can use various educational resources, such as wall charts, models, projections, multimedia and other means for teaching. Kindergarten has professional teachers who have received professional training. They have rich educational experience and can promote the effective implementation of sex education. Children can communicate and receive information more easily in a relaxed and friendly environment.

Third, the way of sex education in kindergartens.

1. Change your mind

Compared with other countries, sex education in China started late. Although children's sex education has attracted people's attention, it is still conservative in many aspects. To implement sex education in kindergartens, we must first change teachers' ideas. Some teachers are more conservative than their parents. It takes courage and wisdom for them to teach sex education in public and put their ideas into action. Teachers should first overcome their own conservative ideas, systematically study theoretical knowledge, carry out practical operations, and carry out sex education activities scientifically and effectively. Relevant institutions should organize all kinds of parent training and teacher training, or invite experts in the field of child sex education to teach sex education knowledge in the form of lectures, so that parents and teachers can understand sex and set a good example. Actively seek a variety of educational means, open up educational channels, and change their own ideas.

2. Various ways to carry out sex education.

Sex education is difficult to teach because the older you get, the faster you learn and the better you master it, and you won't be shy. This situation lies in older children's ignorance of sex and the closed education of the older generation, which makes them reject sexual knowledge. Therefore, the sooner sex education is implemented, the better. Education should start from kindergarten and be included in the curriculum. Kindergartens should actively develop formal education curriculum framework and systematically carry out sex education.
