Taicang City, a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Jiangsu Province, is managed by Suzhou City and located in the southeast of Jiangsu Province, on the south bank of the Yangtze River estuary, between 3120' north latitude and 3145' east longitude, and120 58'-121east longitude.

The characteristics of Taicang are as follows:

It borders the Yangtze River in the east and Chongming Island across the river. It borders Baoshan District and Jiading District of Shanghai in the south, Kunshan City in the west and Changshu City in the north, with a total area of 809.93 square kilometers. Taicang City belongs to the humid climate zone in the south of the North Subtropical Zone, with abundant sunshine, distinct four seasons, changeable spring and autumn, hot and rainy summer and cold and little rain in winter.

As of February 2022, Taicang has jurisdiction over 6 towns and 2 streets 1 Economic Development Zone, and the Municipal People's Government is located at No.99 Fudong Street, Loudong Street County. By the end of 2022, Taicang had a registered population of 533,000 and a permanent population of 843,600, with an urbanization rate of 7 1.03%.

The history of Taicang is as follows:

In the early Warring States period, in three years (473 BC), the State of Wu perished, and this is the land of Lou Yi in the State of Yue. In the mid-Warring States period, the State of Chu was destroyed and became a land of barbarians. In the 26th year of Qin Shihuang (the first 22 years1year), Louyi was changed to Louxian, which belonged to Huiji County.

At the beginning of the Western Han Dynasty, it was once the land of Lou County in Jing State, and later it was the land of Lou County in Wu State. In the third year of Emperor Jingdi (before 154), the State of Wu split and Huiji County was restored to Han County. The territory belongs to Lou County and Han County. In the first year of the founding of the People's Republic of China (9 years), Louxian was renamed Louzhi, which belonged to Huiji County.

In the 11th year of Jianwu in the Eastern Han Dynasty (35 years), Louzhi was renamed as Louxian County, and its affiliation remained unchanged. In the fourth year of Yongjian (129), Huiji County was established as Wuxian County in the west of Zhejiang Province. Louxian county belongs to Wuxian county.

In the second year of Di Xian Xingping (195), the Ministry of Sun Ce chased Zhi Zhu to the prefect Xu Gong of Wu County. Since then, Wu belongs to Sun Wu of the Three Kingdoms. In 222, in the first year of Huang Wu, Wu Dadi, Wu Jun was established and Lou County belonged to it.
