Shihezi University has/kloc-0 disciplines such as economics, law, education, literature, history, science, engineering, agriculture, medicine, management, art, etc. There are 92 undergraduate majors, 8 first-class doctoral degree authorization points, 26 first-class master degree authorization points, 20 master degree authorization categories, 4 post-doctoral research stations and 2 post-doctoral research stations.

At present, there are 1 national first-class construction disciplines, 1 national key disciplines, 1 national key cultivation disciplines and1autonomous region-level key disciplines. Clinical medicine, agricultural science and chemistry are the top 1% majors in ESI. There are 3 national teaching teams, 2 national famous teachers, 4 national excellent courses, 1 bilingual teaching demonstration course, 3 excellent video open courses, 2 excellent resource sharing courses, 5 national specialty construction projects and 1 experimental teaching demonstration center.

The school is a pilot university of Excellence (doctor, engineer, agricultural and forestry talents) education and training program of the Ministry of Education, and has six pilot majors of Excellence talent training program. The school also has a national college students' cultural quality education base and an off-campus practical education base.
