Labor relations refer to the employment relationship between employers and workers, including the agreement and management of employment, salary and working conditions. There are extensive and in-depth discussions on the research of labor relations at home and abroad.
Domestic research status:
The research on labor relations in China started late, mainly focusing on the research on labor law and management system. With the change of economic, social and political environment, more and more scholars pay attention to the role of labor relations in modern enterprises, such as labor market, labor cost and human resource management. In addition, some scholars link the study of labor relations with the strategy, competition and organizational behavior of enterprises, and discuss the management and strategic choice of enterprises under different labor relations models.
Present situation of foreign research:
The research on labor relations abroad has a long history. As early as the beginning of the 20th century, American scholars began to conduct in-depth research on labor relations. With the constant changes and development of the labor market, social and political systems, foreign research has gradually entered different stages.
From 1930s to 1960s, it mainly studied the composition and changes of labor relations. In 1970s and 1980s, we paid attention to the persistent unemployment, the conflict between organizational power and consultation system, and the reconstruction of national labor relations system. Since 1990s, it has mainly focused on non-standardized labor relations, globalization and multinational labor relations, the innovation of labor organization forms and the new situation of labor relations.
To sum up, the research on labor relations at home and abroad has different orientations, objects and methods, but they are all discussing the changes and important roles of labor relations, which has promoted the in-depth development of the discipline.
