Changzhi Vocational and Technical College was formed in September, 2000 by the merger of former Changzhi Staff University, Southeast Shanxi Coal Mine School and Changzhi Agricultural School. It belongs to a local higher vocational and technical college, authorized by the State Council, approved by Shanxi provincial government first, and put on record by the State Council. The college has three-year junior college, five-year higher vocational college, three-year technical secondary school, adult junior college and other educational specifications, with more than 6,000 students.
