Forest kindergarten refers to the process of realizing children's own development by providing them with personal experience and practical opportunities in the forest environment. The educational goal of forest kindergarten is to cultivate children's self-esteem, self-confidence and independent ability, so that children can learn to respect and pay attention to the natural environment and respect all living things.
Forest education originated in Denmark in 1950s, and now it has become popular in Germany. At present, there are more than 1500 forest kindergartens all over Germany, and they have been extended to areas outside Europe. Japan and South Korea are booming, and the United States and Canada are also trying out outdoor kindergartens.
