The National College Computer Basic Education Research Association was established in 1984, with more than 500 member units. It is a national-level academic group with important influence in China and specializes in the research of computer basic education in colleges and universities.

The National College Computer Basic Education Research Association was established in 1984 with the English name of Association of Fundamental Computing Education in China Universities, or AFCEC for short.

After the change of the National Computer Basic Education Research Association in 2008, under the leadership of President Wang Lujiang, the new Council inherited the fine tradition and experience of the previous Council, carried forward the achievements made by the research association in the past 25 years, and further implemented the idea of holding a meeting on basic education, computer application and front-line teachers.
