What exactly is an international school?
International schools originally refer to schools that provide mother tongue education for foreigners living in China, and some also recruit students from China. In recent years, it has developed into a school that can provide foreign education model for China students. Generally speaking, international schools are taught by foreign teachers, with a foreign academic system and a certain proportion of international students.

According to the enrollment situation, it can be divided into three categories: foreign children's schools, international departments of public schools, and private international schools. By international schools, we mean private international schools.

(1) Foreign Children's School (with clear nationality restrictions and few families' choice): an international school for foreign children in China established by overseas institutions to facilitate foreigners' living in China. Most of these international schools provide a complete western K- 12 education (from kindergarten to 12 grade), and their teaching is relatively independent, which is not regulated by China's education system.

(2) International Department of Public School (household registration required, few families choose): It is the International Cooperation Department of China Public School, which is aimed at China students who need to study abroad. Most of these schools are jointly founded by public schools, high schools and overseas schools.

(3) Private international schools (stateless household registration requirements, the choice of most families): schools founded by private capital in China mainly recruit students from China and provide overseas courses.
