Xi 'an Translation Institute was founded by Mr. Ding Zuyi, an outstanding contemporary educator and pioneer of private education in China. The school is located at the foot of Zhong Nanshan Mountain in the southern suburb of Xi. Its predecessor was Xi 'an Translation Training Institute, which was established in 1987. In 2000, with the approval of the Shaanxi Provincial People's Government, xi 'an Translation Vocational College was established to implement full-time higher vocational education. Approved by the Ministry of Education in 2005, it was upgraded to an undergraduate college and renamed Xi 'an Translation Institute.
