School education in Southern Dynasties was dominated by Guo Zi School. However, in the Southern Dynasties, Liu and Song established a junior college and formulated a system of teaching by subject, which broke the traditional school education system with Confucian classics as the only course and had a great influence on later generations. It is the germination of the development of colleges in Sui and Tang Dynasties, and even the strength of establishing universities by disciplines in later generations.
