Civil service examination is divided into national civil service examination and local civil service examination.

The national civil service examination written test includes two parts: public subjects and professional subjects. The public subjects are "Administrative Professional Ability Test" and "Shen Lun", and all candidates take these two subjects. Some positions need to refer to the foreign language proficiency test or professional test.

The local civil service examination is close to the whole country and basically follows the national model. Most provincial examination outlines are also based on the whole country.
