Shanghai Civil Defence Science Education Museum is divided into four exhibition areas, namely, Civil Defence Rescue Protective Equipment Exhibition Area, 16 collections, Emergency Self-rescue and Mutual Rescue Exhibition Area, 5 collections, Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Exhibition Area, 6 collections, Air Defense Warning and Aircraft Model Exhibition Area, 17 collections.
It is a multi-functional venue, which focuses on the knowledge and skills of people's air defense and air raid response, as well as the causes, hazards and protection methods of typhoons, tornadoes, chemical accidents and other disasters. There are interactive equipment and devices such as 4D cinema, subway escape and on-site rescue in the museum.
There is also knowledge about earthquake disasters, such as earthquake distribution, magnitude and intensity, earthquake precursors, earthquake relief, etc., which have become the most concerned content of the residents in the museum. In addition, the protection knowledge of disasters such as typhoon, fire, chemical accident and military air raid is also displayed by multimedia means such as sound, light and electricity.
Interactive experience is a major feature of Shanghai Civil Defence Science Education Museum. There is a subway escape experience area in the museum, which allows citizens to experience escape in a simulated subway environment and master escape methods and self-help and mutual rescue skills.
