Hubei No.2 Normal University originated from Hubei Institute of Education established by 193 1, and was transformed into National Hubei Normal University by 1944, and transformed into Hubei Institute of Education by 1949. In 2003, the school moved to China Optics Valley Park in Wuhan, and merged with Hubei Industrial School in the same year.
