The relationship between education and politics has gone through two stages: from "education is attached to politics" in ancient society to "education is relatively independent of politics" in modern society. Because of the contradiction between education's choice of national consciousness and individual freedom, various models of the relationship between education and politics have been formed.

Judging from the historical process, the core of the relationship between education and politics is democracy, which is the expansion and extension of political democratic rights in the field of education.

Educational democracy is the subsidiary and embodiment of political democracy, but educational democratization is not a simple deduction of political democratization. Education democratization actually includes two aspects: 1. Educational democracy: it extends political democracy to the field of education and makes education the right and obligation of the public. It includes not only equal right to education, but also personal freedom and freedom of thought in the field of education.
