In addition, Yu Manbai also absorbed nutrition from epigraphy, calligraphy, stone carving, Han brick and even shadow play, and made artistic achievements. In the late 1950s, Yu Man Bai joined the ranks of artists as a folk artist and became a member of Sichuan Branch of China Artists Association. Yu Manbai's works were selected as one of the teaching reference works by the Central Academy of Arts and Crafts. His paper-cut works such as "Fish Song" and "Return from Harvest" were exhibited abroad and were well received by foreign friends. The masterpiece "Great Unity of All Nationalities" was exhibited in the national arts and crafts exhibition from 65438 to 0978, which was widely welcomed and sold well at home and abroad.
After years of development, paper-cutting tools have gradually replaced scissors with engraving. Cutting can only carve one or two simple patterns at a time, while carving with wax board can carve one or twenty layers at a time, and the patterns are much finer and the forms of expression are more diverse. In terms of materials, it has also expanded from paper to aluminum-gold paper, greatly enhancing the expressive force and appeal of the works. Although Yu Manbai has passed away, his students are working hard to study and develop Zigong paper-cutting art represented by him. "China Zigong Paper-cut" will enjoy a long-standing reputation and continue to be welcomed by people at home and abroad.
